Job summary

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service – Gladstone QLD is seeking a dedicated mental health clinician to support recovery through assessments, triage, care planning and targeted interventions.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, provide outreach across Central Queensland, and contribute to data collection and quality improvement while guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Hold relevant qualifications and professional registration; eligibility to become an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 is a bonus.
• Clinical know-how to support people experiencing complex mental health challenges, including risk assessments and triage; understand Queensland legislation and national standards.
• Strong therapeutic communication skills; build trusting relationships; thrive in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to juggle competing priorities, deliver quality adult mental health care and mentor colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Make every interaction count by delivering mental health assessments, risk assessments, triage, care planning and therapeutic interventions to support recovery.
• Grow clinically through hands-on experience, professional development, peer learning and clinical supervision.
• Collaborate with consumers, carers and multidisciplinary teams; provide outreach across Central Queensland and participate in extended-hour services to improve access to care.
• Contribute to clinical data collection and quality improvement initiatives; support students and less experienced staff to develop confidence and skills.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $139,931 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $57.76 – $61.85 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
• 17.5% leave loading
