Job summary

Palm Lake Care Mount Warren Park is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our clinical leadership team on a Full Time basis from Monday to Friday. You’ll work closely with the Clinical Manager to ensure the highest standards of clinical care are delivered every day.

You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative team that values innovation, communication, and compassion in every aspect of care, with weekend shifts available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Nursing with APHRA registration.
  • Minimum two years in a senior nursing role within Residential Aged Care.
  • Strong understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Gerontology Certificate / Diploma or willingness to undertake same.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and respond to deteriorating residents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents, families, and health professionals.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Current National Police Check and valid C-Class Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and supporting the day-to-day delivery of high-quality clinical care under the guidance of the Clinical Manager.
  • Providing clinical leadership and mentoring to Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Assistants.
  • Overseeing resident assessments, care planning, and documentation in line with Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Managing and reviewing complex wound care and coordinating allied health referrals.
  • Supporting the Clinical Manager in audits, quality improvement programs and compliance activities.
  • Promoting excellence in infection control and clinical governance.
  • Assisting with staff education, onboarding and performance support.
  • Ensuring compliance with Aged Care Code of Conduct and Charter of Rights.
  • Participating in continuous improvement and clinical meetings to enhance resident outcomes.

Position Details

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this leadership role, you will bring

  • Bachelor of Nursing with current APHRA registration
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a senior nursing role within Residential Aged Care

  • Gerontology Certificate / Diploma or willingness to undertake same
