Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is seeking an experienced Clinical Manager for the Early Psychosis Programme (EPP) to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based care to youth aged 14–25 with FEP or UHR. Based at Bondi Junction with occasional travel across SESLHD sites.

The role requires clinical leadership, advanced assessment and treatment skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a complex mental health setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated clinical leadership in a multidisciplinary framework.
• Advanced skills in mental health assessment and treatment including individual and family interventions.
• Ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice using evidence-based research.
• Current driver’s licence or willingness to travel as required.

Where you'll be working

Based at Bondi Junction Community Mental Health Centre, ESMHS Bondi Junction with some travel to other SESLHD MHS sites as required.

The Early Psychosis Program (EPP) is a specialist multi-disciplinary team providing evidence-based care to young people aged 14 – 25 who have recently experienced a First Episode of Psychosis (FEP), or who are at Ultra High Risk (UHR) of experiencing psychosis, based on Australian Clinical Guidelines for Early Psychosis. The EPP Clinical Manager provides clinical leadership and operational management for this multidisciplinary team (approx. 6 FTE). The position is based at the Bondi Junction Community Mental Health Centre.

Selection Criteria

• Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award. Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW or Occupational Therapy with current registration with AHPRA. Registered Nurse with current unrestricted registration with AHPRA and meet the requirement for NUM 1 grading under the NSW Public Health System Nurses' and Midwives' State Award. Psychology registration with the PsyBA, along with completion of 12 months at the 9th year of service and thereafter point on the salary scale for Psychologists. For Clinical Psychologists, full Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology (or eligibility to progress towards the same), along with a minimum two-year full-time accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in practice.
• Demonstrated advanced skills in mental health assessment and treatment including individual and family Interventions.
• Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence based research.
• Ability to manage and direct the delivery of services in a complex mental health setting.
• Demonstrated understanding of the contemporary theory and direction of youth mental health, particularly early intervention.
• Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and demonstrated application of evidence-based practice within mental health.
• Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
