This role blends hands-on nursing with leadership, mentoring, and service coordination in a 24/7 SIL/SDA environment, with roster and leadership arrangements discussed at recruitment.

You will guide the nursing team, promote safe, evidence‑informed care, ensure care plans are implemented, and maintain clinical governance.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• At least four years of relevant professional experience, preferably in complex care or disability nursing.
• Ability to provide clinical guidance, mentor colleagues, and support consistent care delivery.
• Strong knowledge of clinical assessment, care planning, documentation, medication safety, risk management, and escalation procedures.
• Practical experience in diabetes management, blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, wound care, continence support, and related care.
• Understanding of complex manual handling, bariatric care, and safe hoist transfers.
• Ability to coordinate priorities, communicate clearly, and work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to screening checks, mandatory training, and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical guidance and professional support to the nursing team.
• Promote consistent implementation of individualised care plans and risk management strategies.
• Monitor documentation and care delivery to strengthen safety and quality.
• Recognise and escalate clinical deterioration and emerging health concerns.
• Support reflective practice and continuous improvement in care delivery.
