The Australian National University invites applications for Indigenous Clinician Educator positions within the School of Medicine and Psychology. These part-time roles (0.1-0.2 FTE) are Academic Level B with a salary package of AU$121,598–AU$137,870 per annum pro rata plus 17% superannuation.

The roles focus on supporting the medical program to advance Indigenous health, recruit and retain Indigenous students, and embed Indigenous health in the curriculum to ensure graduates are culturally safe

Job description

Classification: Academic Level B
Salary package:$121.598 - $137,870 per annum(pro rata) plus 17% superannuation
Term:Part-time, Continuing, Multiple Positions (0.1-0.2 FTE)

The filling of these positions is intended to constitute a special measure and are aimed at increasing employment opportunities for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons in line with the strategies in the ANU Enterprise Agreement.

The Positions

The Indigenous Clinician Educators will play an important role supporting the medical program to achieve its objectives in regard to Indigenous health including the recruitment and retention of Indigenous students, the embedding of Indigenous health in the curriculum and ensuring we graduate culturally safe and informed doctors.

The School

The School of Medicine and Psychology (SMP) was established in 2023 to bring together expertise from Medicine and Psychology to develop a unique educational and research environment. The focus is to produce psychologists, researchers, and medical graduates who practice compassion, conscience and professional excellence, and with a knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and culture. The school partners with a number of healthcare organisations to deliver teaching and training including but not limited to ACT Health, community practices throughout the ACT and southeastern NSW.

The College

TheANU College of Science and Medicineencompasses the disciplines of: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environment and Society, Mathematics, Physics, and Science Communication and is also home to a number of cross-disciplinary and specialist Institutes and Centres. Staff and students within the ANU College of Science and Medicine conduct research and deliver a research-led education program that encompasses the breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and by world-class facilities.
