Job summary

City of Yarra is seeking a Climate Emergency Engagement Officer to lead communications and campaigns that mobilise communities towards climate action. The role focuses on designing and delivering initiatives that empower youth leaders and at-risk communities, with collaboration across internal teams and partners.

The position offers hybrid/flexible working arrangements, a part-time schedule (30.4 hours/week) and a pro-rata band starting from AUD 94,850.87 plus super.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing and implementing community sustainability campaigns and projects.
• Strong communications skills and ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver communications and campaigns to support climate action programs and community engagement.
• Design, deliver and evaluate initiatives focused on empowering communities most at risk of climate impacts, especially youth leadership.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and partner organisations on shared projects.
