Job summary

Queensland Government - Bundaberg East State School is seeking a reliable Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. This temporary part-time role (0.78FTE) operates across a split shift.

You will clean a range of areas, manage rubbish and undertake routine maintenance as directed by the Principal or Business Manager. Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise a range of areas, surfaces and fixtures, including windows, doors, sinks, drinking fountains, furniture, equipment, toilets and sick bays.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and undertake tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, hosing and controlling cobwebs and mildew using extendable equipment where required.
• Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor surfaces, including concrete, bitumen, asphalt and paved areas, as well as vinyl and timber floors through buffing, stripping and polishing.
• Manage rubbish and litter, including removing material from drains and gutters between and around buildings, and undertake graffiti removal.
• Perform other appropriate cleaning duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.78FTE), 59 hours per fortnight, working a split shift.
