Job summary

Alliance Clinics in Townsville is seeking a reliable Cleaner to maintain clean, safe and welcoming clinic environments across our Pimlico and Kirwan locations. This is an after-hours role, based on a regular cleaning schedule, with work done independently on-site.

The role involves cleaning offices, reception areas, therapy spaces and equipment, sanitising toys and surfaces, and ensuring hygiene and infection control. The position is approximately 25–30 hours per week with potential to increase.

Qualifications

• Must have current First Aid and CPR.
• Must have current National Police Check.
• Must have current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Must have a valid provisional or open driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Routine cleaning of offices, reception areas, therapy rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and shared spaces.
• Clean and sanitise toys, therapy resources and frequently touched surfaces.
• Vacuum, mop, dust and wipe surfaces; empty bins.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards across Pimlico and Kirwan clinics.
• Follow hygiene and infection-control procedures.

The Opportunity

Alliance Clinics is seeking a reliable and experienced Cleaner to help us maintain clean, safe and welcoming clinic environments across our two Townsville locations.

This is a straightforward cleaning role, primarily involving offices, reception areas and therapy spaces. A key part of the role is ensuring therapy rooms, toys, equipment and frequently touched surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised.

Cleaning is completed after hours when our clinics are closed, so you must be comfortable and confident working independently and alone on site.

The role is approximately 25-30 hours per week, with the potential to increase over time.

All cleaning products and equipment are supplied. No specialised cleaning machinery or equipment is required.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Routine cleaning of offices, reception areas, therapy rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and shared spaces
• Cleaning and sanitising toys, therapy resources, surfaces and frequently touched areas
• Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces and emptying bins
• Maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness across our Pimlico and Kirwan clinics
• Following appropriate hygiene and infection-control procedures
• Keeping cleaning supplies organised and advising when stock needs replenishing
• Cleaning and maintaining company vehicles, including basic interior and exterior cleaning (car wash)
• Checking vehicle fuel levels and topping up fuel when required
• Completing simple facilities-related tasks where appropriate
• Identifying and reporting maintenance, safety or cleaning issues
• Maintaining privacy and confidentiality while working within our clinics
• Ensuring facilities are secure when working after hours
• Being willing to lend a hand with practical tasks around the clinics when required

About You

We are looking for someone who is reliable, thorough and takes pride in their work.

You need to be comfortable working independently, following a regular cleaning schedule and noticing the smaller things that keep a busy allied health clinic clean and presentable.

As most work is completed after hours, you must be comfortable working alone in our clinics without direct supervision and able to manage your workload independently.

Because our clinics support children and people with disability, attention to hygiene is particularly important. Cleaning and sanitising toys, therapy equipment and shared spaces is a routine and important part of the role.

You will also need basic confidence with a phone or computer, as we use electronic systems to allocate tasks, communicate requests and report issues.

• Ability to travel between our Pimlico and Kirwan clinics
• Ability and willingness to work alone after hours
• Ability to work independently and reliably without direct supervision
• Basic confidence using a phone or computer for work-related communication and tasks

Desirable

Previous commercial, office, health, disability or community-service cleaning experience is desirable, but specialised healthcare cleaning experience is not required.
