Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Prison Cleaner at Parkville Youth Justice Precinct to maintain a clean and hygienic environment across site facilities. You will work on night shifts (20:30–00:30) with a seven‑day roster, starting ASAP, with casual contract and opportunities for ongoing hours.

Shifts include penalties where applicable, and Ventia provides full training, PPE, and potential pathways to permanent employment based on performance. A Driver's Licence and checks are required.

Qualifications

• Current Driver's Licence is required.
• Current Employee Working With Children Check is required.
• National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
• Availability to work during Christmas and New Year period if rostered.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning amenities, offices and communal areas.
• Vacuuming, mopping and dusting.
• Cleaning bathrooms and kitchen facilities.
• Restocking consumables.
• Bio-cleaning and decontamination tasks as required.
• Following cleaning schedules, safety procedures and site requirements.

About The Role

Your Duties Will Include

• Cleaning amenities, offices and communal areas

• Bio-cleaning and decontamination tasks as required
• Following cleaning schedules, safety procedures and site requirements

Please note: This role is based within a secure youth justice environment and will involve bio-cleaning duties. Full training will be provided.

To be successful, you will have:

• Current Driver's Licence
• Current Employee Working With Children Check
• National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Availability to work throughout the Christmas and New Year period, including Public Holidays if rostered
• Reliable transport
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
