We are seeking an accomplished Operations Team Leader to lead and develop a team of 15–18 Hospital Claims Consultants within a structured, process‑driven environment. This role is ideal for a highly capable leader who combines operational excellence, strong financial and reporting capability, and genuine people leadership.

Experience in health insurance or hospital claims processing is preferred but not essential. What matters most is proven success leading operational teams, a strong understanding of process and risk, and the ability to translate data and insight into meaningful performance outcomes.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operational performance of a hospital claims function, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant claims outcomes while fostering a professional, engaged and customer‑focused culture.

This position offers a hybrid working model based in Adelaide, an attractive salary, and the opportunity to play a key leadership role within a complex, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 15–18 Hospital Claims Consultants
  • Drive operational excellence across people, process and technology
  • Ensure accurate and compliant processing of hospital claims in line with policy, legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Manage workflow, resourcing and service levels to consistently meet SLAs
  • Deliver targeted performance and behavioural coaching aligned to operational and quality targets
  • Analyse operational and financial reports, identify trends and insights, and implement improvement actions
  • Promote continuous improvement, efficiency and automation initiatives
  • Partner closely with risk, compliance, quality and process design teams
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, medical providers and external partners
  • Ensure all risk, compliance, and governance obligations are met
About You

You are a structured, detail‑oriented leader who understands the importance of strong process, risk awareness and disciplined execution in claims‑based environments. You lead with professionalism and empathy, creating clarity, accountability and confidence within your team.

You will bring :
  • Proven experience leading medium to large operational teams (15+ consultants)
  • Experience in hospital claims, health insurance, or regulated financial services (preferred)
  • Strong reporting, analytical and problem‑solving capability
  • Sound financial and commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated experience in performance management and coaching
  • A strong understanding of risk, compliance and quality frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑volume operational environments
