Job summary

Zurich Australia is seeking a collaborative Claims Advisor for our Workers’ Compensation team. You’ll manage a portfolio of moderate to complex claims and provide high‑level support to injured workers and their employers.

Based in Australia with a hybrid work arrangement, you will work closely with regulators, employers, brokers and in-house specialists to secure timely, sustainable return‑to‑work outcomes while ensuring claims are managed in line with legislation, guidelines and Zurich

Qualifications

• Experience managing workers’ compensation claims, including moderate to complex matters.
• Strong technical claims and injury management knowledge.
• Understanding of Tasmania’s workers’ compensation legislation.
• Experience engaging with regulators and working within governance frameworks.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to develop claim strategies and evaluate risk.

Responsibilities

• Manage workers’ compensation claims from inception through to resolution, including complex coverage considerations
• Develop clear case strategies and evaluations to support timely and effective claim outcomes
• Establish appropriate reserves and review them throughout the claims lifecycle within delegated authority
• Act as a technical referral point for workers’ compensation claims
• Partner with legal providers and other external vendors to support effective claim management
• Build strong relationships with employers, brokers, insurers, regulators and other key stakeholders

As a Claims Advisor in our Workers’ Compensation team, you’ll manage a portfolio of moderate to complex claims and provide a high level of support to injured workers and their employers.

Sitting within the GI Complex Claims Team, you’ll work closely with key stakeholders to achieve timely, sustainable return-to-work outcomes while ensuring claims are managed in line with relevant legislation, guidelines and Zurich’s governance requirements.

You will also be responsible for the following:

• Manage workers’ compensation claims from inception through to resolution, including complex coverage considerations


• Develop clear case strategies and evaluations to support timely and effective claim outcomes


• Establish appropriate reserves and review them throughout the claims lifecycle within delegated authority


• Act as a technical referral point for workers’ compensation claims


• Partner with legal providers and other external vendors to support effective claim management


• Build strong relationships with employers, brokers, insurers, regulators and other key stakeholders

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

• Experience managing workers’ compensation claims, including moderate to complex matters


• Strong technical claims and injury management knowledge


• A sound understanding of Tasmania’s workers’ compensation legislation


• Experience engaging with regulators and working within legislative and governance frameworks


• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities


• The ability to develop claim strategies, evaluate risk and make well-reasoned decisions
