Job summary

NQ Estimating & Civil Services in Cairns, Queensland, invites an experienced Civil Supervisor to lead and oversee construction projects from conception to completion. The casual, flexible role supports delivering projects on time and within budget, with a focus on quality and safety.

The position entails travel to site locations as required, strong leadership, and hands-on project supervision. You will coordinate trades, monitor progress, review drawings, and maintain detailed documentation

Qualifications

• Hands-on attitude with supervisory experience in construction
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations and reporting
• Excellent communication with clients, contractors and stakeholders
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and plans
• Experience with budgeting, cost control and resource allocation
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required
• Experience in Queensland construction projects and local codes is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure work aligns with project specs and schedules
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resources for efficient delivery
• Supervise site teams including tradespeople, labourers and sub-contractors
• Conduct regular site inspections for quality and safety compliance
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers and stakeholders for updates and variations
• Maintain project documentation including reports, progress records and safety logs
• Identify and resolve issues and delays to minimise delivery impact
• Ensure adherence to health and safety obligations and company policies
• Manage site logistics, procurement and equipment to support execution
