Job summary

RoadTek, a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads, invites you to join the Central Queensland Operations Unit in Rockhampton as a permanent, full-time Project Engineer. You will support planning, coordination and delivery of civil infrastructure construction and maintenance projects, building hands-on engineering and project delivery experience.

Under RPEQ supervision, you will provide engineering input, monitor progress, assist with procurement and reporting, and

Qualifications

• Four-year Civil Engineering degree; Washington Accord or equivalent.
• Valid Queensland C class driver’s licence.
• Desirable: experience in civil infrastructure construction, maintenance or rehabilitation.
• Experience supporting road, bridge, drainage or related works under RPEQ supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination and delivery of civil infrastructure construction and maintenance projects.
• Coordinate construction activities against scope, programme, budget, specifications and safety requirements.
• Provide engineering and technical support under appropriate RPEQ supervision.
• Monitor project progress, costs, quantities, quality outcomes and risks.
• Prepare project reports, forecasts, technical correspondence and inspection records.
• Collaborate with supervisors, construction teams, suppliers, subcontractors, designers and specialists.
• Assist with procurement activities, subcontractor packages, variations and claims.
• Contribute to inspections, testing, QA, risk management and continuous improvement.
