Job summary

Elevate Engineering Consultants is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer (4–7 years) to join our team in the Killarney Vale area on the Central Coast. The role focuses on preparing and managing civil designs for residential and commercial developments, with emphasis on stormwater, drainage, and DA/CC/CDC documentation.

Elevate Engineering Consultants | Killarney Vale, Central Coast NSW | Full-Time

Elevate Engineering Consultants is a growing structural and civil engineering consultancy based in Killarney Vale on the Central Coast, providing engineering services across the Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter and Sydney regions.

Due to continued growth in our civil department, we are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with approximately 4–7 years’ consulting experience to join our team.

The successful applicant will work directly under our Principal Civil Engineer, who has over 20 years of industry experience, while also having the support of a Civil Drafter.

This is a hands-on engineering role. While drafting support will be available, strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills are critical, as the successful applicant will be expected to prepare and modify some of their own drawings and documentation where required.

About the Role

The role will primarily involve the preparation and management of civil engineering designs for residential and commercial developments, including:

• Stormwater drainage design and documentation
• Stormwater retention and water quality designs
• Section 138 applications and associated civil works
• Driveway and access designs
• Civil designs supporting DA, CC and CDC applications
• Alterations and additions
• New residential dwellings
• Small to medium commercial projects
• Preparation of civil engineering drawings, calculations and reports
• Preparation and modification of your own CAD drawings where required
• Managing and coordinating work with a Civil Drafter
• Reviewing civil drawings and documentation prepared by the drafter
• Liaising with councils, builders, architects, building designers and other consultants
• Responding to Council and certifier RFIs
• Managing projects from initial design through to approval and construction

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has approximately 4–7 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer, preferably within an Australian engineering consultancy
• Has experience working on similar projects on the Central Coast and/or surrounding NSW areas
• Has strong experience in stormwater management and drainage design
• Has experience with Section 138 applications and Council approvals
• Has experience preparing civil documentation for DA, CC and CDC applications
• Has strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills - this is essential
• Is comfortable preparing and modifying their own civil drawings when required
• Can effectively manage and provide direction to a Civil Drafter
• Can manage their own projects while working under the guidance of our Principal Civil Engineer
• Is confident communicating directly with clients, councils and other consultants
• Is organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Has a practical approach to civil design and problem solving
• Holds relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
• Experience with DRAINS andMUSIC would also be highly regarded.
