Job summary

Brisbane City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, City Policy and Local Laws to shape policy and regulatory settings for Brisbane's growth and livability. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, you will lead cross-disciplinary teams across City Policy, Transport Policy and City Local Laws, delivering practical, evidence-based guidance to senior leaders.

You will translate strategic priorities into implementable outcomes, oversee regulatory governance, and build capability

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Law, Urban Planning or a related discipline.
Experience within Queensland local government legislative environment.
Postgraduate management qualifications highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Lead development and review of city policy, regulatory frameworks and local laws.
Provide strategic policy and legislative advice to senior leadership and elected representatives.
Strengthen cross-Council collaboration to ensure policies are practical and evidence-based.
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary policy team with a focus on consistency and continuous improvement.
Oversee regulatory governance and ensure policies remain compliant and responsive.
