Job summary

Brisbane City Council is seeking a dedicated cleaner to maintain heritage-listed City Hall, including Clock Tower and Museum of Brisbane, with duties spanning cleaning, vacuuming, polishing floors, emptying rubbish, and servicing kitchens and offices.

The role operates Monday to Friday 1:30pm–10:00pm on a 9-day fortnight, with occasional overtime, a Brisbane City Council uniform, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with diverse customers
• awareness of confidentiality requirements in sensitive environments
• physical ability for cleaning tasks including lifting and moving items
• time management to plan and prioritise daily tasks
• experience with cleaning chemicals and equipment
• ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
• knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety in cleaning/hospitality

Responsibilities

• cleaning of City Hall areas: Clock Tower, Museum of Brisbane, offices, kitchens, and toilets
• vacuuming, polishing floors, rubbish disposal and general housekeeping
• maintain high cleaning standards and daily task checklist
• provide tea/coffee service when needed and assist Council meetings staff
• interact with internal/external customers while maintaining security
