23rd October, 2026

Be the steady, positive influence a young person needs.

Some jobs are about completing a shift. This one is about showing up, building trust and making a genuine difference in a young person’s life.
Direct Care Resources is looking for experienced and compassionate Child Safety Support Workers to support children and young people across Logan and Ipswich.

Working within out-of-home care environments, you’ll provide the consistency, structure and encouragement young people need to feel safe, develop life skills and participate in their community.

No two days will be the same, but your ability to remain calm, dependable and genuinely present will matter every day.

What You’ll Do
As a Child Safety Support Worker, you’ll:

  • Build safe, respectful and consistent relationships with children and young people
  • Provide day-to-day support within a home environment
  • Support school attendance, appointments, activities and community participation
  • Help young people develop everyday living skills, routines and independence
  • Use trauma-informed and person-centred approaches
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situations and behaviours
  • Maintain professional boundaries while creating a supportive environment
  • Administer medication in line with individual plans and DCR procedures

  • Confidence working independently and as part of a broader care team
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Sound judgement, resilience and emotional maturity
  • A genuine commitment to the safety, wellbeing and development of young people
  • Flexibility to work across AM, PM, weekend, overnight and sleepover shifts

  • Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Valid Blue Card
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

Why Join DCR?

At Direct Care Resources, you are more than a name on a roster.
For more than 28 years, DCR has supported people with complex care needs across South East Queensland. We understand that quality care depends on quality people, so we want our Support Workers to feel supported too.

You’ll have access to:

  • Flexible roster options
  • Ongoing AM, PM, weekend and sleepover shifts
  • Paid induction
  • Travel reimbursement
  • Heavily subsidised Certificate IV training opportunities through our training partners
  • Regular supervision, coaching and support from experienced leaders
  • Ongoing learning and professional development
  • Opportunities to build experience across specialised and complex support environments
