Job summary

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing Victoria is recruiting for a Child Protection Navigator – Practice Leader. The role focuses on activating the Family Preservation and Reunification Response with trauma-informed, culturally safe and child-centered practice.

You will lead risk assessment, case planning and quality audits, while promoting a connected, coordinated practice culture across practitioners in child and family services.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Aboriginal culture and the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle and related programs.
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel, including country regions.
• Experience in child protection practice with trauma-informed, culturally safe approaches.

Responsibilities

• Risk assessment and analysis: authorises plans and decisions in relation to risk assessment, analysis and mitigation/intervention.
• Case planning review and case management: leads planning, review and management of their own and team members' case work.
