Job summary

Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) seeks a Social Worker/Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist to join the Child Protection Counselling Service (CPCS) in Nowra and Warilla. The role focuses on assessments, therapeutic case management, and ongoing counselling for children and carers affected by domestic violence, abuse or neglect.

The position offers a permanent part-time arrangement (24 hours per week) with incentives and a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Has extensive direct clinical experience providing counselling for people (including children) who have experienced violence, abuse, neglect and trauma.
• Knowledge and understanding of the impacts of trauma on the brain and development.
• Ability to provide clinical supervision.

Responsibilities

• This position is part of a team of counsellors providing assessments, therapeutic case management, and ongoing counselling to children and their carers who have experienced domestic violence, physical abuse, or neglect.
• Based at Nowra Community Health Centre and Warilla Community Health Centre with some outreach throughout the Illawarra.
