Job summary

UnitingCare Children, Young People and Families – Rockhampton QLD is seeking a dedicated Child and Family Practitioner for the Family Intervention Service. The role is permanent full-time (38 hours/week) based in Rockhampton, with remuneration from $53.43 per hour plus super and NFP salary packaging.

The position focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based services to vulnerable children and families, including home-based interventions and case management within the child protection

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a relevant human services field.
• QLD Blue Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card) desirable.
• Current Drivers Licence.
• Experience in child protection is preferred but not essential.

• Provide holistic, therapeutic services to vulnerable children, young people and families within the Family Intervention Service (FIS).
• Deliver high quality, best practice services and support reunification where appropriate.

Your part in our UnitingCare team

This role will be responsible for providing services to vulnerable children, young people and families within the Family Intervention Service (FIS) with emphasis on delivery of high quality, best practice service delivery.

This position provides:

A holistic and therapeutic response to the needs of families and individuals, that are involved in the child protection system.

Intervention to support the reunification of children and/or young people to their biological family after spending time in out-of- home care placements or working with parents under and an Intervention with Parental Agreement case to work towards minimising the child protection worries so they can remain safe in the family home

This role is a home-based intervention and includes case management requirements as well as therapeutic intervention skills

What makes a difference for us?

A Tertiary qualification (minimum Bachelor Degree) in a relevant human services field with relevant experience in previous roles, and where relevant registration with a nationally recognised professional body is desirable

Demonstrated skills and sound knowledge gained through experience working with children and families

QLD Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card)

Be able to achieve results through personal proficiency and demonstrate high-quality technical or professional work

Experience in the area of child protection is preferred but not essential

Current Drivers Licence
