Job Purpose

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer to join the Rental Car Manager senior leadership team and own Rental Car Manager’s technology strategy and software delivery process. This role is responsible for leading the development and testing teams, supporting the successful execution of the product roadmap, and driving innovation across the business. The CTO will oversee the full software delivery lifecycle from resource planning and scheduling through to deployment and post-release support, while maintaining high standards of quality, security, and scalability. AI adoption by RCM is an important part of the role and as such it is expected that the CTO will provide thought leadership on AI and development practices.

Job Responsibilities
  • Driving commercial growth & strategic direction of products and platform/s.
  • Directing and managing employees and resources, ensuring adherence to business objectives and budgets.
  • Overseeing the welfare and development of all employees and ensuring a safe working environment for all.
  • Responsible for the quality and technical approach taken by team members.
  • Implementing risk management policies to address strategic, operational, and legislative compliance risks.
  • Ensuring company directives are executed successfully, and company policies and procedures are adhered to and are in line with current legislation and regulations.
  • Undertake financial and resource planning and measure and report on performance against metrics.
  • In consultation with HR, support, manage and implement HR matters, with respect to your teams.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Needed
  • Strong technical background with a degree qualification & at least 4 years’ experience in a software development role and testing role.
  • Proven track record driving the strategic direction of products and platforms.
  • Prior experience as a development team manager, supporting strong team cultures and developing teams.
  • Experience across policy, governance & compliance in a technical environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and lead.
  • Ability to contribute to and influence strategic direction and vision.
  • Have exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate sometimes complex issues in a simple way.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
