The Position

Campaspe Shire Council is seeking an outstanding Chief Executive Officer to lead a progressive regional council serving diverse and growing communities. Reporting to the elected Council, the CEO will provide visible, values-led and collaborative leadership to support community wellbeing, liveability and sustainable growth.

Council is well positioned to build on recent progress, with a clear mandate to continue strengthening customer service, organisational performance and value for ratepayers.

Working constructively with Councillors, the incoming CEO will lead the delivery of current strategic plans, deliver on ambitious infrastructure priorities, and strengthen trusted relationships across government, business and community partners.

The successful appointee will bring a proven record of executive leadership in a large, complex and community-focused organisation delivering a broad range of services and operations. Contemporary governance capability, commercial discipline, sound financial judgement and strong interpersonal skills will be essential.

You will be highly motivated to engage genuinely with regional communities, listen carefully to local priorities, and advocate strongly for outcomes that reflect the needs and aspirations of the Shire.

Leading a multidisciplinary workforce of more than 500 committed staff and a budget exceeding $120 million, you will be known for building constructive workplace cultures, enabling accountability, and strengthening future organisational resilience.

Campaspe Shire is a vibrant regional municipality in northern Victoria, known for its strong communities, rich history, productive agricultural base, majestic rivers and attractive townships. Campaspe Shire Council delivers more than 100 services to the community, including childcare, waste, libraries, parks and gardens, local laws, infrastructure management, animal control, building and planning. Council plays a central role in enabling local services, infrastructure, advocacy and community wellbeing across the municipality.
