The Role As Chief Executive Officer, you will be the executive leader responsible for the company’s long-term strategic direction, financial performance, and operational excellence. You will work closely with the Board and the executive team to set and execute a clear vision, align all functions (Sales, Operations, Engineering, R&D, and Finance), and drive growth and profitability. This role emphasizes strategic leadership, executive governance, and high-level client engagement, with sales performance delivered through a high-calibre sales organisation led by the National Sales – Major Projects Manager and the Sales Director/Head of Sales.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s strategic plan in alignment with the Board’s vision, ensuring growth, profitability, and market leadership.
  • Set a bold but achievable strategy to increase market share, improve margins, and enhance organisational performance across all functions.
  • Drive executive management performance, establish and monitor KPIs for each department to deliver on strategic targets.
  • Oversee strategic growth initiatives (market expansion, new revenue streams, innovation, and R&D) rather than acting as the primary personal sales driver; ensure a high-functioning sales ecosystem supports major projects and strategic clients.
  • Guide financial planning and performance management, including budgeting, reporting, and cost control to achieve EBITDA targets.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, risk management, HSEQ excellence, and ethical governance across the organisation.
  • Foster a strong, positive organizational culture with focus on leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement, while maintaining and growing turnover targets.
  • Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including major customers, suppliers, and strategic partners and represent the company at the CEO level with major clients.
  • Maintain relentless focus on brand, value proposition, and market differentiation; champion communications that align internal initiatives with external market positioning.

Essential Experience and Qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree electrical with advanced qualifications or an MBA. Coupled with heavy industry knowledge across engineering, mining, manufacturing industries.
  • Proven track record as a senior executive (CEO/Managing Director or equivalent) with demonstrable growth outcomes in a comparable sector; mining-related exposure is highly preferred.
  • Strong strategic, financial, and operational acumen with a history of scaling organisations, improving market share, margins, and overall performance.
  • Experience leading diverse functions and driving performance through accountable, KPI-driven leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute growth strategies, including market expansion, product/offer development, and new revenue streams.
  • Strong governance, risk, and WHSEQ leadership and a commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical standards.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to engage with executive clients and major project stakeholders at the executive level.
