Job summary

Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) in NSW seeks a Chief Executive to lead statewide education, workforce capability and leadership development, underpinning NSW Health performance. You will guide strategic priorities, oversee governance, and drive large-scale reform across clinical, non-clinical and executive workforces.

You will collaborate with government, health services, universities and industry to deliver measurable outcomes and a future-ready health system for New South Wales.

Qualifications

• Significant senior executive leadership experience within healthcare, education or government.
• Experience leading large-scale organisational transformation or system redesign.
• Proven ability to develop and implement enterprise-wide workforce, education or leadership strategies.
• Strong financial governance and accountability for large budgets.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement and cross-sector collaboration.
• Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead HETI's statewide education, capability development and leadership programs.
• Set strategic direction aligned with NSW Health priorities and workforce needs.
• Oversee governance, performance and statutory functions under the Health Services Act 1997.
• Drive workforce capability initiatives across clinical, non-clinical and executive workforces.
• Engage with government, health services, universities and industry to build partnerships.
