Job description

Situated 25 minutes from the Adelaide CBD, GMB Water is committed to supporting the Mount Barker region by providing essential water recovery services that sustain a strong and vibrant community. As South Australia’s largest local government run wastewater and recycling scheme, GMB Water is a subsidiary of the Mount Barker District Council (MBDC) and owns and operates services designed to provide greater water security for the area.

Reporting to the GMB Water Board and working closely with the MBDC CEO and Elected Members, this vital water leadership role will be responsible for strategic leadership, business development and growth, financial management and operational delivery for the utility.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced professionals with proven credibility within a comparable domain. Leading, developing and motivating a dedicated team of around 18 people, the successful applicant will demonstrate political and commercial acumen, energy, proactivity, authenticity, agility and the strategic and technical capacity to lead this important service provider. The ability to identify and mitigate risks and connect with a diverse range of public and private stakeholders will also be critical for success in the position. Extensive experience in the water management industry will naturally be a distinct advantage.
