Job summary

Western Sydney University invites applications for a Chief AI Enablement Officer to lead enterprise AI strategy, governance and adoption across the university, translating ambition into a clear multi-year roadmap and prioritised investments.

Reporting to the COO, you will build an AI Enablement function, manage budget and partners, and establish responsible governance including privacy, ethics and risk across technology, data and academic portfolios.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent senior executive experience in AI or transformation.
• Substantial senior leadership experience delivering enterprise AI transformation.
• Knowledge of AI, ML, generative AI, privacy, cyber security and ethics.
• Ability to advise executives and governing bodies and drive organisation-wide change.

Responsibilities

• Set enterprise AI strategy and multi-year roadmap with priorities and investment targets.
• Lead the AI Enablement function across the university and manage resources and partnerships.
• Govern responsible AI with clear decision rights, standards and risk controls.
• Advise the Vice-Chancellor, University Executive and Board on AI opportunities.
• Collaborate across technology, data, cyber security, privacy and academic governance.
