Job summary

Regis Aged Care in Victoria is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our residential aged care homes. You will manage food safety, lead kitchen teams and ensure high-quality meal production across multiple sites.

Role emphasizes resident dietary management, cost control and continuous improvement. Full-time roles available across VIC with opportunities for development and study support.

Qualifications

• Two years full-time experience in aged care or high-volume commercial catering.
• Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Understanding of resident dietary needs and cost management.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Manage compliance related to food safety, WHS and quality.
• Lead and train kitchen staff; participate in recruitment.
• Stock control and ordering.
• Resident dietary management.
• Kitchen cost management and meal production.
• Deliver high-quality meals and dining service.
• Communicate with residents and families as needed.

How You Will Make An Impact As a Cook

• Manage compliance related to food safety, WHS and quality.
• Leading and motivating the team and be part of recruitment and training of team members
• Stock control and ordering
• Resident dietary management
• Kitchen and food cost management
• Production and delivery of high-quality meals
• Service excellence around all aspects of the dining experience
• Communicate with residents and families and document the need of residents if required.
• Provide management and guidance to the kitchen staff, ensuring a smooth operation

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Experience in Aged Care (preferred) - Two years of Full-time experience within Aged Care is preferred or broader catering experience from commercial catering in high volume is desired.
• Qualification (Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery) and/or experience working as a Chef in Aged Care would be advantageous but not necessary.
• Trade Qualifications and experience and understanding of special dietary needs.
• Understand the impact of food cost management.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement
• Exceptional customer service mindset
• Strong personal presentation and grooming skills
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
