Job summary

Moran Health Care Group is hiring a committed Cook / Chef for Moran Sylvania home in Sydney's Sutherland Shire. The role focuses on preparing nourishing home-cooked meals and maintaining high dining standards for residents.

You will work with a dedicated team, report to the Chef Manager, and support dietary needs, menu planning, stock control, and HACCP-compliant food safety practices. Availability across weekdays and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial catering or other food service.
• TAFE approved Commercial Cookery Course or equivalent.
• Certificate in Food Handling and Hygiene.
• Familiarity with state Food Handling Regulations/HACCP.
• Organisational and management ability.
• Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Current Police Check and Valid Working Rights.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day delivery of food services at Moran Sylvania home.
• All aspects of food preparation and cooking using MHCG recipes and menus.
• Liaise with Chef Manager for residents requiring preparation of special diets.
• Confidently prepare a varied range of meals.
• Ensure dietary and nutritional needs of residents are met.
• Order stock, assist with budget control and minimise waste.
• Participate in the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of food services in the home.
• Responsible for ordering, storage and labelling of food.
• Prepare and present food within set time frames.

We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicatedCook / Chef to join our wonderful team at our Moran Sylvania home, set in one of the prime residential areas in Sydney's Sutherland Shire.

• Shift Schedule: Thursday, Friday & Saturday - 06:00am to 14:00pm

In this role, you will be genuinely dedicated to creating a welcoming, and warm environment by preparing a range of delicious and nourishing home-cooked meals. Your care and reliability will help ensure everyone considers it a place where they are truly at home.

You will receive ongoing guidance and mentoring to help you succeed in your role. You'll work with a dedicated team, making a positive impact on our residents’ daily lives. Moran offers a rewarding environment with modern facilities and opportunities for skill development.

We are seeking candidates with availability to work across weekdays and weekends.

Key Duties:

You will report to the Chef Manager and will provide great food and dining experiences.

• Support day-to-day delivery of food services at Moran Sylvania home

• Confident preparing a selection of varied food choices
• Ensure dietary and nutritional needs of the residents are met
• Ordering of stock, budget control and minimisation of food wastage as required
• Active participation in the Food Safety Program
• Maintenance of the highest standards of food services in our home
• Responsible for the ordering, storage and labelling of food as required by the Chef Manger
• Prepare and present food within set time frames
