Job summary

Eurest at Lake Ainsworth, near Lennox Heads, NSW, seeks a Casual Chef to assist in bulk cooking and presentation across diverse group settings, including school groups and corporate functions. The role requires adherence to dietary requirements, allergen controls and HACCP standards while maintaining high hygiene and food safety.

You will hold a Cert III in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety Supervisor certification (highly regarded), lead junior and senior staff, and manage costs through

Qualifications

• Cert III in Commercial Cookery is essential for Chefs.
• Food Safety Supervisor certification is highly regarded.
• Proven experience in bulk or high-volume cooking environments.
• Strong understanding of allergen management and dietary needs, particularly with children.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with junior and senior kitchen staff.
• Passion for fresh, café-style food with quality presentation.
• Sound knowledge of food safety standards, OH&S practices, and kitchen compliance.
• Working with Children Check is required or can be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, bulk cooking, and presentation of meals to a consistently high standard across a variety of group settings.
• Cater for large school groups, corporate functions, and general day-to-day guests.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and allergen controls, especially when catering for children.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and presentation in line with HACCP and internal guidelines.
• Monitor food costs through effective portion control, waste minimisation, and stock management.
• Support the ongoing development of healthy menu options and nutritional awareness.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with both junior and senior kitchen staff
• Passionate about fresh, café-style food with an eye for quality and presentation
• Sound knowledge of food safety standards, OH&S practices, and kitchen compliance requirements
• Must be able to obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
