Job summary

Journey Early Learning is seeking a friendly, reliable Chef to join our 61-place Banyo centre. You’ll prepare fresh meals, lead Future Foodies activities and work closely with educators to nurture children’s curiosity about food.

We value a warm, approachable personality, strong kitchen skills and dedication to safe, healthy eating. Permanent part-time (30 hours/week) with weekday hours and supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing nutritious meals in childcare or commercial kitchen.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or equivalent is required.
• Relevant cookery qualifications are highly regarded.
• Knowledge of allergies, dietary requirements and safe handling of food.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Warm, approachable personality and confidence working with children and families.
• Completed National Child Safety Training (Gecko) is preferred.

• Prepare fresh, nutritious and balanced meals and snacks for children.
• Bring the Future Foodies program to life through engaging food experiences.
• Collaborate with educators to support food-related learning activities.

Journey Early Learning Banyo is looking for a friendly, reliable and passionate Chef to join our 61-place centre.

At Journey, food is more than just what's on the plate! Through our Future Foodies program, we encourage children to explore new flavours, develop healthy eating habits and build a positive relationship with food.

We're looking for someone who loves cooking but also enjoys connecting with children, families and educators. You'll be a familiar, friendly face across the centre, bringing consistency, creativity and a genuine passion for food to our community.

Permanent Part-Time | 30 Hours per Week | 6:30am - 1:00pm | Monday to Friday

We're looking for someone who is organised, dependable and genuinely enjoys being part of an early learning community.

You’ll bring:

• Experience preparing nutritious meals in a childcare or commercial kitchen
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Relevant cookery qualifications highly regarded
• Knowledge of food allergies, dietary requirements and safe food handling
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• A warm, approachable personality and confidence interacting with children and families
• Creativity and enthusiasm for introducing children to new foods and experiences
• Reliability, consistency and a positive team-focused approach
• Completed National Child Safety Training (Gecko)
