Job description

Experienced Chef required for Lumbini Trading PTY LTD trading as The Hungry Buddha located in Belconnen ACT 2617. Working hours Fulltime (38 hours) per week. A passion for cooking and respect for work ethics are essential to this fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • Responsibility for all operational aspects of the kitchen.
  • Preparing and cooking food
  • Planning menu items
  • Estimate food and labour costs and ordering food supplies.
  • Ensure quality and presentation of all foods.
  • Training and developing kitchen staff.
  • Discuss food preparation with management, dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff.
  • Receiving & storing food stocks, kitchen supplies and equipment
  • Advising on cooking procedures and demonstrating techniques
  • Discussing food preparation issues with senior management
  • Maintaining quality, preparation, and presentation of dishes quality
  • Implementing systems & procedures
  • Implement, explain and enforcing hygiene regulations & secure workplace.
  • Select and train staff.
  • Freeze and preserve foods.
  • Fine dining experience is recommended for this Chef position.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Must have AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management
  • Must have experience worked as Chef minimum 1 Year Full Time
  • Any successful applicant must be a team player, able to work under pressure & maintain a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen.
