Edge Early Learning - Administrators Appointed in Queensland is seeking a Chef to plan and prepare nutritious, seasonal meals for children from 6 weeks to school age. You will introduce children to new flavours, celebrate cultural diversity through food, and work with educators to embed nutrition in learning.

The role offers Monday to Friday daytime hours with no evenings, in purpose-built kitchens, and opportunities for professional development within the Edge network.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or ACECQA-approved Early Childhood qualification is required.
  • Current Working with Children Check and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate are required.
  • Knowledge of early childhood nutrition, food safety and allergy management is essential.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday during centre operating hours is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare nutritious, seasonal meals and snacks for children aged 6 weeks to school age.
  • Develop menus using Feed Australia while accommodating allergies, cultural and dietary requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and compliant kitchen environment.
  • Manage ordering, stock control and minimise food waste.
  • Partner with educators to make food and nutrition part of children's learning experiences.
