Job summary

Busy Bees Kilburn is seeking a passionate and organised part-time Chef to join our childcare kitchen team. The role is 25 hours per week, with shifts 8:30am to 1:30pm, in a centre that supports children aged 0-5 years.

You'll plan nutritious meals, cater for allergies and dietary needs, manage ordering and stock, and uphold food safety standards in a child-friendly environment. A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and WWCC are required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef or Cook, childcare experience highly regarded.
• Knowledge of Australian Dietary Guidelines and healthy meal planning.
• Awareness of allergen management and kitchen hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals in line with Australian Dietary Guidelines.
• Cater for allergies, intolerances, and cultural dietary requirements.
• Manage food ordering, budgeting, and stock control.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment in accordance with Food Safety Standards.
• Work collaboratively with the Centre Leadership Team.
• Contribute to children's learning around nutrition and healthy eating.

Chef [Part-Time 25 hours] | $33.87 per hour | Kilburn, SA

We're seeking a passionate and organised PT Chef to join our team at Busy Bees at Kilburn , located at 323 Churchill Road, Kilburn SA 5084 , on a part-time basis [working approximately 25 hours per week the hours are 8.30 to 1.30. 5 hours per day. You will play a key role preparing fresh, nutritious meals that support the health, wellbeing, and development of children aged 0-5 years.

What you'll do

• Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals in line with Australian Dietary Guidelines

• Cater for allergies, intolerances, and cultural dietary requirements

• Manage food ordering, budgeting, and stock control

• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment in accordance with Food Safety Standards

What you'll bring

• A genuine commitment to child safety, speaking up, always doing the right thing, and alignment with Busy Bees values

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook (experience in childcare highly regarded)

• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

• Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen hygiene practices

• Strong organisation and time management skills

• A genuine passion for preparing nutritious meals for children and understanding allergen management and child-safe practices

• Current Working with Children Check for SA or willingness to obtain
