Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a CH-47F Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) to join the Chinook Integrated-Services Support (CISS) in Townsville. You will deliver high-level CH-47F training across airborne, synthetic, and ground-based environments within the School of Army Aviation framework.

The role requires current flight qualifications, NVIS Command experience, and the ability to obtain NV1 Defence clearance.

Qualifications

• CH-47F QFI (Category C) required.
• CH-47F NVIS Command experience preferred.
• Group 4 Command Instrument Rating required.
• Current CLASS 1 Medical is mandatory.
• CASA ASIC clearance required for defence work.
• Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 Defence clearance.
• CH-47F QFI (Category B/A) preferred.
• Group 4 Instrument Rating Assessor eligibility.
• CH-47F TFPS Instructor Operator Simulator experience valued.
• Simulator Reference Pilot qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Delivery: CH-47F airborne, synthetic, and ground instruction.
• Flight Operations: supervise CH-47F flying activities per protocols.
• Compliance & Currency: maintain flying currency and qualifications.
• Safety Leadership: foster a strong safety culture across the team.
• Operational Support: manage instructional and admin tasks for training workflows.
• Continuous Improvement: contribute to evolving training methods and team performance.
