Job summary

Costa is seeking a commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to lead the Vertical Farming finance operations. This full-time role is based at our Docklands, Victoria office with a hybrid model (four days in the office, one day from home).

You will partner with operations across mushroom and glasshouse units to drive financial performance, support strategic decisions, and identify sustainable growth opportunities. Strong leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and governance is essential.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree and professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent).
• Experience in horticulture, agriculture, agribusiness, food production or FMCG environments will be highly regarded.
• Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally at CFO, Finance Director or Head of Finance level.
• Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and commercial decision support within complex operational businesses.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills with the ability to influence and partner effectively across executive and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership across Vertical Farming operations, including mushrooms and glasshouses.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance reporting to support business decision-making.
• Partner with operational and commercial leaders to identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and growth.
• Oversee capital investment evaluation, financial controls, risk management and governance activities.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
