Job summary

Verso Projects in Brisbane is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to shape capital strategy, oversee development finance, and lead treasury and governance across a growing portfolio of development projects. You will report to the CEO and work closely with owners to optimize funding structures and returns.

You will build a high-performing finance team, implement robust systems, and drive AI-enabled forecasting and reporting to support rapid growth and investment decisions.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA required with extensive experience in property development or investment finance.
• Experience leading development feasibilities, project finance, and investment analysis.
• Proven ability to manage lender and capital partner relationships and funding negotiations.
• Exposure to funds management, investor reporting or regulated investment structures is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital planning, debt and equity funding, and relationships with lenders, investors and joint venture partners.
• Challenge acquisition and development feasibilities, assess investment returns and advise on project staging and capital allocation.
• Oversee portfolio cash flow, funding facilities, covenants, refinancing and distributions.
• Maintain clear visibility of project budgets, committed costs, contingencies and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Strengthen financial reporting, controls and governance across development, project and investment entities.
• Develop the finance team and improve systems, data quality and decision support.
