Job summary

Pirtek Ballarat is seeking a motivated Centre Technician to deliver high-quality service at the Hose Service Centre. You will work with a friendly team, handle counter and phone inquiries, and participate in hose assembly, machine/weld, and pipe bending procedures.

Training will be provided, with progression toward a Mobile Service Technician role under the supervision of the Operations Manager. Ideal candidates will have strong customer service skills, good communication, and a mechanical

Qualifications

• Customer service experience with strong communication skills.
• Good telephone manner and written communication.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn procedures.
• Mechanical background and ability to operate machinery.
• Familiarity with measuring devices and basic tools.
• Valid manual Driver’s Licence and basic literacy/numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation of the Hose Service Centre.
• Learn hose assembly, machine/weld, and pipe bending procedures.

The Role

As a Centre Technician you will be expected to deliver consistent, accurate, high quality service to our customers. You will become a passionate and energetic team member with excellent skills in communication. The job will challenge you to provide solutions and build relationships with a varying range of customers.

You will be provided with training and work towards advancing to a Mobile Service Technician. You will report to the Operations Manager.

General Tasks

• Support in daily operation of the Hose Service Centre


• Learn hose assembly, Machine/Weld and pipe-bending procedures


• Attend to customers’ needs at the counter and on the phone


• Data entry and stock control duties


• Pick-up and deliver goods as required

You

To be considered for this position you will ideally have:

• A strong understanding of customer service


• Good telephone manner


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Ability to carry out instructions


• A knowledge of the industry or similar type


• Mechanical background


• Ability to operate machinery, use tools and measuring devices accurately


• Current Manual Driver’s License


• Be computer literate and have good literacy and numeracy skills


• Well-presented and groomed
