Centre Director - Margate Children's Centre

Stepping Stones Children's Services is seeking an experienced and passionate Centre Director to lead our Margate Children's Centre in Margate, Tasmania. This is a full-time position based on-site at our 102 place child care facility for birth - 5yrs.

As Centre Director, you will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care programs that support the development and wellbeing of the children in our care.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead excellence in governance, compliance, and continuous improvement—aligned with National Law and Regulations
  • Collaborate with the Educational Leader to embed a high-quality, play-based curriculum aligned with relevant EYLF frameworks
  • Champion reflective practice and data-informed planning through QIPs and A&R feedback
  • Mentor, inspire, and empower a team of educators , fostering professional growth and wellbeing
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with families, the community, and all stakeholders
  • Oversee strategic operations, including budgeting, transparent governance, and long-term service sustainability
  • Ensure full compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements
What we are seeking

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Centre Director or in a senior leadership role in the early childhood education sector

Relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field

Thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework and ability to implement best practice

Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

Strong business and financial management capabilities

Demonstrated success in leading and motivating high-performing teams

Commitment to continuous professional development and a culture of learning

A strong commitment to all aspects of child safety, including child protection, mandatory reporting and adopting the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations inclusive of the Tasmanian Child Safe Standards
