Job summary

YMCA South Australia is seeking a passionate Centre Cook for Riverbanks Early Learning Centre in Adelaide. This part-time role offers 26 hours per week, reporting to the ELC Director. You will plan and prepare nutritious meals for children, meet dietary requirements and maintain high hygiene standards.

As a key team member, you will contribute to a safe, caring and educational atmosphere, plan healthy eating education, and provide meals that support children's growth and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting is required.
• RRHAN-EC Training is required.
• Experience in nutrition and dietary requirements of children is preferred.
• Experience working in a childcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals for children.
• Meet dietary requirements, including allergies.
• Provide high level customer service and strong communication.
• Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food.
• Work with the team to foster a safe, caring and educational atmosphere for children.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate Centre Cook for our Riverbanks Early Learning Centre! This is a part-time opportunity offering 26 hours per week, reporting to the ELC Director.

As a Centre Cook at Riverbanks ELC, and as a key member of the team, you will:

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals for the children
• Meet specific dietary requirements, including allergies
• Provide a high level of customer service skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks
• Work as part of a team to create and foster a safe, caring, and educational atmosphere for children
• Plan and implement healthy eating education and hands-on cooking for children
• Delight little customers with big appetites - provide delicious and nutritional meals to children

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:

• HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
• Certificate of completion for "Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care" (RRHAN-EC) Training
• Previous experience in nutrition and dietary requirement of children
• Previous experience working within a childcare setting
