Job summary

CatholicCare on the Central Coast is seeking a Domestic Family Violence Caseworker (Child Focus) to join the SHLV team. The role centers on safety planning for women and children, providing practical and emotional support, and coordinating with police, health and child protection services.

The child-focused caseworker will support education stability, ensure trauma-informed care, and travel across the Central Coast to visit families in homes or communities.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role working with young people aged 4-18 years.
• Demonstrated experience in effective case management with domestic and family violence, cycle of violence, impacts and safety planning.
• Knowledge of parenting programs and ability to facilitate such programs.
• Understanding of Child Protection and DFV legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, short term, comprehensive case management to support women & children experiencing domestic & family violence.
• All case-managed clients receive a safety risk assessment, safety plan and goals through case planning.
• Provide advocacy, safety planning and collaborate with other services.
• Provide timely intake and triage assessment.
• Delivery of group facilitation of Domestic Family violence.
• Develop and foster relationships with external stakeholders and community groups including NSW Police and DCJ NSW Health.
