About Us

At Wellways, we work alongside people, families and communities to create an inclusive society where everyone can imagine and achieve their best life. Our people are the heart of everything we do and we are committed to supporting their safety, health and wellbeing every day.

About The Opportunity

As Senior Manager Central and Western NSW, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio spanning metropolitan, regional and rural communities across NSW. You will translate organisational priorities into strong service, people and community outcomes, while ensuring services remain responsive to the needs of the communities they support.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be a highly visible and connected leader, building trusted relationships across your geographic area and representing Wellways with key stakeholders, community partners and local networks. You will provide leadership across services in Dubbo, Orange, Bathurst, Lightning Ridge, Cowra, Coonabarabran, Walgett, Windsor, Penrith, Campbelltown, Bella Vista, Katoomba, Lithgow and Newcastle, creating connection, collaboration and shared purpose across a geographically dispersed portfolio.

You will lead the implementation of organisational strategy, driving service excellence, contractual performance and participant outcomes while ensuring services meet funding, quality and regulatory obligations. You will build strategic partnerships that strengthen community impact and service integration, identify opportunities for service development, funding and growth, and consider the impact of growth on participants, employees and communities.

The role will also lead organisational change and support leaders through growth and transformation, navigating complexity with sound judgement and balancing risk and opportunity to achieve positive outcomes. You will champion lived and living experience, co-production and participant voice, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.

As a steward of organisational resources, you will oversee financial performance, budgeting and resource allocation and ensure strong governance, risk management and compliance. Through visible, values-led leadership, you will create the conditions for leaders and teams to thrive as one Wellways team, while maintaining strong connection to local communities and services.

You can be based at any of the service locations across the region, with applicants based in or close to Dubbo or Penrith particularly encouraged to apply. Regular travel and a strong presence across the region are essential to building trusted relationships, supporting leaders and maintaining connection with local communities, participants and services.

About You

You are an experienced, values-led leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational focus. You bring a proven track record of leading complex services, programs or portfolios, developing high-performing leaders and teams, and building trusted partnerships that deliver positive outcomes for participants, communities and the organisation.

You are confident leading large, geographically dispersed portfolios, creating connection and shared purpose across metropolitan, regional and rural communities while balancing local needs with organisational priorities. You understand the importance of visible and connected leadership and are able to engage and influence across a diverse workforce, building strong relationships and a shared sense of purpose.

You bring demonstrated experience translating strategy into action, driving service improvement and identifying opportunities for business development, growth and innovation. You build effective partnerships with government, community and sector stakeholders and use strong communication, influence and collaboration to strengthen outcomes and community impact.

Your leadership approach is grounded in participant-centred practice, inclusion, cultural safety and the meaningful integration of lived and living experience. You stay connected to community needs, to ensure Wellways continues to respond to changing environments. You create spaces where people feel valued, supported and empowered, with diverse perspectives contributing to stronger decision-making and service delivery.

You bring strong financial stewardship, with experience managing budgets, resources and performance to support organisational priorities and sustainable outcomes. Above all, you demonstrate a genuine commitment to Wellways’ values and purpose, leading with compassion, inclusivity and a deep belief in the importance of community, participation and social change.
