Are you a caring health professional ready to make a real difference for older adults with mental health needs? Central Coast Local Health District is looking for a Health Clinician Level 1 to join our Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) Team at Wyong. This is an exciting opportunity for Level 1 / 2 clinicians experienced in working with people over the age of 65.

About the Opportunity

As an OPMH Care Coordinator, you will work with people over 65 living with moderate to severe mental illness, including those in residential aged care. You’ll provide care coordination, case management, recovery-focused interventions, and support for families and carers. Using your clinical reasoning and expertise, you’ll conduct mental health assessments, deliver evidence-based treatments, and make referrals in line with best practice standards.

You’ll work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, helping older adults and their families navigate complex mental health needs and improve their quality of life.

This role is suitable for the following grades:

  • Social Worker Level 1 / 2.
  • Occupational Therapist Level 1 / 2.
  • Psychologist.
  • Clinical Psychologist.
  • Registered Nurse.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 1.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant tertiary qualification (Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Social Work) with the required registration or membership, and a current valid Australian Divers Licence.
  • Understands the mental health needs of older adults and their families and can provide sensitive, person-centred care.
  • Applies recovery-oriented, evidence-based mental health practices, including clinical assessment, treatment planning, and interventions with consumers and carers.
  • Can work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Dedicated to delivering high-quality care with a willingness to learn and adapt.
