Mercy Health in Western Australia is seeking a Catering Manager to lead high-quality hospitality services that create a warm, home-like environment for residents, families and staff. The role offers true work-life balance with no nights and alternate weekends, while streamlining operations with set menus and reliable suppliers.

You will oversee catering, housekeeping and laundry services, ensuring nutritious meals, safety compliance, and a positive, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Commercial Cookery (required).
• Strong leadership skills with ability to lead by example in kitchen.
• Experience managing and coaching small teams.
• Experience cooking for large groups.
• Ability to coordinate menus and tailor meals to dietary needs.
• Knowledge of OHS, food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing housekeeping and laundry operations.
• Aged care experience desirable; hotel/restaurant backgrounds welcome with training provided.

This role reports to the Precinct Manager and oversees catering, housekeeping, and laundry services to ensure excellence in every detail.

• Lead and manage catering, housekeeping, and laundry services to deliver exceptional hospitality.
• Oversee meal preparation and food service, ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, varied meals that meet all health and safety regulations.
• Ensure housekeeping and laundry services are efficient, effective, and compliant with all policies and standards.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment that supports staff development and high-quality service.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manage resources efficiently within budget.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance the resident experience.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

• Certificate in Commercial Cookery
• A hands-on leadership with the ability to lead by example in the kitchen when needed.
• Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing and coaching small teams.
• Experience in preparing and cooking for large groups.
• Skills in menu coordination and tailoring meals to diverse dietary needs.
• Knowledge of OHS, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing housekeeping and laundry operations.
• Aged care experience is desirable but not essential - we welcome candidates from hotel and restaurant backgrounds, with all relevant training provided.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Clearance or recent Police check
