Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is recruiting an experienced catering instructor to teach in the South West, delivering hands-on kitchen sessions alongside underpinning theory. You will assess learner work, track progress and provide timely feedback to help students gain industry-recognised qualifications and move into employment or further study.

Role involves planning sessions, preparing schemes of work and resources, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene across practical settings

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in catering, professional cookery, hospitality or a related subject.
• Substantial industry experience in catering or food service.
• Strong practical knowledge of food preparation, service delivery and food safety.
• Ability to support learners with varied needs in a vocational learning environment.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced catering professional ready to pass on your skills to the next generation of chefs and hospitality staff?

About the Role

You will plan and deliver engaging teaching across catering, professional cookery and food service, combining practical kitchen sessions with the underpinning theory learners need to succeed.

Working as part of a supportive curriculum team with a further education provider in the South West, you'll assess learner work, track progress and give clear, timely feedback that helps students gain industry-recognised qualifications and move on to employment or further study.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering catering and professional cookery sessions in training kitchens and classrooms.
• Preparing schemes of work, learning resources and assessments.
• Assessing practical and written work and providing constructive feedback.

What We're Looking For
