Job summary

Bupa Tugun Care Home on the Gold Coast is seeking a friendly and compassionate cook/catering assistant to provide meals and snacks for residents. Use your hospitality skills in a role that truly makes a difference in daily wellbeing.

The position requires flexible shifts, strong communication, and an understanding of resident rights and safety standards. Previous aged care experience is valued but not essential, and training will be provided to support your success.

Qualifications

• Cert III Hospitality (preferred) and relevant experience in catering for residents.
• Experience with aged care is valued but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on resident wellbeing.
• Understanding of Resident Rights and Aged Care Accreditation Standards.
• Flexible availability for shifts throughout the week.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and meal service for residents.
• Provide meals and snacks with empathetic, personal approach.
• Maintain dining areas, ensure hygiene and safety practices.
• Support the broader team, including laundry and cleaning as needed.

About the Role

Use your fantastic catering skills in a role where you really can make a difference. Provide our residents with an empathetic and personal approach.

Duties

• Assist with basic food prep
• Provide meals and snacks
• Clear dining areas and dishwashing
• Maintain legislated food hygiene and safety practices
• Ad hoc support to the broader team as required, including laundry and cleaning

Skills and Experience

• Cert III Hospitality highly regarded
• Aged care experience highly regarded but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
• Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week
