Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a friendly and reliable Catering Assistant to join our aged care team at our Byron Bay site on a part-time basis. This role involves working in a supportive environment to help deliver quality meal services for residents and staff.

You will be part of a team that values care, pride and community, with entry-level training and development pathways, and access to employee discounts. A current vaccination and a National Criminal History Check are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation and/or customer service.
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery highly regarded.
• Experience in contract catering, aged care, healthcare, or food service environments is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble food items including salads, sandwiches, and texture-modified meals
• Assist with meal service, ensuring a high standard of presentation and customer service
• Restock supplies before, during, and after service periods
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing duties
• Set tables and assist with plating and meal distribution

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble food items including salads, sandwiches, and texture-modified meals
