Job summary

Stanmore Resources in Brisbane is seeking a procurement leader for a 12-month maternity leave contract at our Head Office. Reporting to the Supply & Logistics Manager, you will develop and execute strategic category and contract management initiatives to strengthen the supply chain and unlock cost savings.

You will lead end-to-end sourcing from strategy through to contract award and execution, support governance and stakeholder management, and apply SAP and contract-management best practices

Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ experience in category management, contract management or senior procurement roles in mining or heavy industry.
• Bachelor-level qualification in commerce, law, supply chain or related discipline.
• Proven track record negotiating and managing complex, high-value contracts.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and problem-solving capability.
• Knowledge of contract law and procurement-related legislative requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder relationship management.
• Experience using Zycus contract management system is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sourcing projects aligned with the annual sourcing plan.
• Develop category and sourcing strategies, leading end-to-end activities from supplier engagement to contract execution.
• Lead RFI, RFQ, RFP and RFT processes for strong commercial outcomes and governance.
• Improve supply security and commercial performance across critical categories and spend areas.
• Support seamless contract execution and handling of procurement terms.
• Analyze market developments, spend trends and supplier performance for savings.
• Partner with stakeholders to shape sourcing strategies and improve delivery.
• Develop practical work plans balancing priorities and workload.
• Support governance, approvals, risk and compliance requirements.

You’ll be responsible for

• Delivering sourcing projects aligned with the annual sourcing plan.
• Developing category and sourcing strategies, leading end-to-end activities from supplier engagement and tendering through to evaluation, negotiation, award and contract execution.
• Lead competitive RFI, RFQ, RFP and RFT processes that deliver strong commercial outcomes, sound governance and measurable value.
• Improving supply security and commercial performance across critical operational categories and spend areas.
• Supporting seamless contract execution and apply a strong understanding of procurement and supply agreement terms.
• Analysing market developments, spend trends and supplier performance to identify savings and improvement opportunities.
• Partnering with stakeholders to solve problems, shape sourcing strategies and improve procurement service delivery.
• Developing practical work plans and schedules that balance business priorities, procurement requirements and workload demands.
• Supporting internal governance, approvals, risk and compliance requirements.

What you’ll bring

• At least 10 years’ experience in category management, contract management or a senior procurement specialist role within mining, resources or heavy industry.
• A bachelor-level qualification in commerce, law, supply chain or a related discipline.
• A strong record of negotiating, executing and managing complex, high-value and high-risk contracts while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and problem-solving capability.
• Sound knowledge of contract law and procurement-related legislative requirements, with the ability to interpret and negotiate complex commercial terms.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Experience using the Zycus contract management system will be highly regarded.
