Job summary

Adore Beauty is seeking a Category Assistant to support the merchandising team on a 12‑month maternity leave contract. You will help manage day-to-day trading, supplier coordination and category activity while gaining exposure to ecommerce and merchandising in a fast-paced beauty business.

You will be organised, commercially minded and confident with systems and numbers, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in merchandising, ecommerce, promotions, trade marketing or retail coordination.
• Strong systems capability and numerical confidence.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and high-volume administration.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to get into the detail.
• Curiosity, motivation and a genuine desire to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day merchandising, trading and category activities.
• Maintain accurate product, promotional and category information across systems.
• Coordinate product updates, supplier information, samples and key changes across internal teams.
• Support online and promotional activity, ensuring products and information are accurate and ready to go.
• Prepare reports, presentations and documentation to support category reviews and commercial activity.
• Assist with market, competitor and customer research to support category activity and growth.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage a high volume of administration while balancing priorities and deadlines.
• Support process improvements and look for smarter ways of working.
• Keep relevant teams informed of product, brand and category updates.
• Get hands-on with the detail needed to keep the merchandising function running smoothly.
