Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking a hands-on Casual Venue Assistant - Operations to help maintain and present showgrounds, equestrian facilities and event venues across Maryborough. You'll be part of the Venue Operations team, performing maintenance, cleaning and groundskeeping tasks while supporting event prep and pack-down.

The role requires weekend work and early starts. You’ll interact with venue hirers, contractors and the public, and contribute to safe, ready-for-event facilities.

Qualifications

• Must have Queensland C Class or CA Driver Licence and White Card.
• Ability to assist with venue and event support activities (set-up/reinstatement).
• Experience with basic cleaning, maintenance or grounds duties in venue/sporting/community facilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning and presentation tasks across buildings, amenities, grounds, stables and public areas.
• Assist with grounds maintenance activities and operation of plant/equipment.
• Support venue inspections and maintenance schedules to keep facilities safe and event-ready.
• Assist with event preparation, site set-up and reinstatement activities.
• Collaborate with contractors and service providers on maintenance/improvement projects.
