The Learning Space
Casual Support Educators | Coburg, Preston & Pascoe Vale
Certificate III, Diploma or Higher | Flexible Team Role
Our children are looking for new "big people" who love to play shops, build cubbies, read stories, and dance (Miss S, 3).
We're seeking passionate and flexible Casual Support Educators to work across our three centres located in Coburg, Preston and Pascoe Vale.
This role is ideal for educators who enjoy variety, thrive in collaborative environments, and are passionate about supporting children's learning through play, inquiry, and meaningful relationships.
At The Learning Space, we believe children are capable, curious, and active participants in their own learning. Our philosophy is grounded in relationships, connection, inclusion, and respect for children as individuals with unique voices, ideas, and ways of learning.
Our inquiry-based approach encourages children to wonder, investigate, question, create, and problem-solve through play and meaningful experiences. Rather than simply delivering activities, our educators work alongside children - listening closely to their interests, extending their thinking, and creating environments that inspire exploration and discovery.
We value slow pedagogy, authentic relationships, and learning that emerges from children's curiosities and the world around them. Whether it's building cubbies, exploring nature, engaging in creative arts, or investigating big questions, we believe learning happens best when children feel safe, connected, and empowered.
Our centres embed cultural learning, sustainability, community connection, and reflective practice into everyday experiences. We see families as important partners and foster collaborative relationships that support each child's wellbeing and development.
We are also deeply committed to child safety and wellbeing. The Learning Space has zero tolerance for child abuse or harm and is committed to creating and maintaining a child-safe organisation where all children are protected, respected, and supported to participate and express their views.
We value diversity and inclusion and actively promote the cultural safety, participation, and empowerment of all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disability, and children who identify as LGBTQIA+.
All educators are expected to uphold Child Safe Standards, maintain professional boundaries, and contribute to a culture of safety, inclusion, and respect.
